Landmannalaugar is a surreal location that you will not forget as you live. This rugged area is the natural habitat of the super jeeps, truly a unique 4×4 off-road destination. Being in a small group, the guide will be able to comply with your special wishes!

Let’s enjoy the diversity of this off-road destination, with its volcanoes, lava fields, and geothermal pool. One of our unique stops is the waterfall Þjófafoss with its interesting viking history (click on the map’s icons for further information). We drive through the great valley of Dómadalur and from there we drive near the infamous volcano Hekla and visit volcano Krakatindur. When we have enjoyed the spectacular scenery from these volcanoes we head off to Landmannalaugar where you can jump into the natural geothermal pool or enjoy some easy hiking in the mountains.

On the way back through a different route we’ll see a magnificent crater lake called Ljótipollur. We also drive through the valley Þjórsárdalur which is packed with lakes, waterfalls and woodland. We will stop at Hjálparfoss Falls and then we drive back to Reykjavik.

This highland tour is weather dependent. We offer you a tour to Thorsmork as plan B if the Landmannalaugar tour cannot be operated.
