star rating  We had a guide (David) and jeep for 6 of us to take us from Rekjavik to the Highlands. It was an amazing adventure and one that we shall remember... read more for years to come. The flexibility of the guided tour was great - this included stopping off at the start to buy cakes and sandwiches as well as looking at a crevice on display from an earthquake that hit the service station. As we ventured into the highlands the snow got worse so the guide adapted the route to keep us safe which ended up to our advantage as we probably saw even more amazing views. The guide, David, was fab - really knowledgable and had experience of the mountains so we always felt safe. The vehicle was a monster so the snow did it stop us getting around. We took loads of photos and have created loads of amazing memories. If you visit Iceland I’d recommend this approach rather than sitting on a coach mainly sticking to the Golden Circle. We still saw that but much more as well including housing that dated over 1000 years old and some of the most amazing waterfalls. A day to remember and we’ll certainly want to return again.
